On December 15, the Second Digital Trade Innovation and Application Summit 2022 and the Launch Conference of Xinhuo BIF International Supernode (Macao) was held in Macao. Under the guidance of Economic and Technological Development Bureau of Macao S.A.R. and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), the event was co-hosted by Institute of Industrial Internet and Internet of Things, CAICT, Macao Quality Brand International Certification League, and Inspur, with parallel sessions simultaneously held in Beijing and Jinan.

The event aims to fully implement the national strategy of the Master Plan of the Development of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, thoroughly implement the overall planning for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and jointly promote the new pattern of “moderately diversified development” in Macao, China.
At the conference, Jin Jian, Director General of Institute of Industrial Internet and Internet of Things of CAICT, Feng Wentao, Chairman of Macau Direch Investment Technology Company Limited, and Wu Sujin, General Manager of Guanzhou Center of Inspur, signed a cooperation agreement on the construction of Xinhuo BIF international Supernode (Macao). With this agreement, they will explore new development paths and build a new economy with Macao characteristics through the Xinhuo BIF digital infrastructure, thus advancing the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy.
Yu Xiaohui extended warm congratulations on the official implementation of Xinhuo BIF International Supernode (Macao). He said that Macao Supernode, as a new infrastructure of digital economy, can support the system of “Macao supervised creation”, “Macao supervised manufacturing”, “Macao design”, the moderately diversified development of Macao, and the development of digital economy and digital transformation of Macao. This will build the overall service capacity of blockchain for the coordinated development of digital economy and industries in Macao, thus further promoting and serving the development of regional digital transformation.
The security, trustworthiness, interconnectivity and integration of data are the foundation for developing the Greater Bay Area’s digital economy and realizing the deep integration of Hengqin and Macao. It is reported that with the implementation of Xinhuo BIF International Supernode in Macao, it will support relevant software systems, resources and services, including three major supporting services: basic service capability, value-added service capability and cross-border characteristic ecosystem service capability. Meanwhile, the software development of the Xinhuo BIF International Supernode (Macao) will be completed.
Since the official commencement of implementation in August 2020, Xinghuo BIF has completed the initial layout in China. In terms of node development, up to now, it has signed 7 supernodes to provide public infrastructure services for backbone nodes, including trustworthy depository, digital identity, trade traceability, etc, and has promoted the implementation of over 30 backbone nodes. Meanwhile, CAICT is proactively seeking cooperation with ASEAN member countries, BRICS countries, and outward-oriented regions such as Macao and Hainan, while partnering with multinational enterprises such as SAP and Siemens in blockchain business, and has launched the construction of international Supernode (Malaysia).
Since November 2021, the Xinhuo BIF backbone node (Hengqin, Zhuhai) has been running for one year, empowering the integrated development of the digital economy in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. With the successful implementation of the Xinhuo BIF International Supernode (Macao), it will further deepen the cooperation between the two places, promote the development of blockchain application and cross-border interconnectivity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
In the future, Hengqin and Macao will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation to jointly advance the implementation and operation of Xinhuo BIF international Supernode in Macao,. They will join hands to build a solid and trustworthy digital foundation for the development of digital trade in the Greater Bay Area, thereby promoting the synergistic development of the global digital economy.
